ReceiverLogs Website Privacy Notice

Last updated: 25 July 2026

This notice explains how Frank Smith XYZ Inc. handles personal information when you use receiverlogs.com, including its homepage, download pages and files, stable or versioned ReceiverLogs Help and legal pages, and other files delivered through the site (the “Website”). It does not cover personal information handled only by the ReceiverLogs desktop application. Separate software legal documents linked from Legal and privacy govern the application itself. Frank Smith XYZ Inc. is responsible for personal information under its control, and its Privacy Officer is accountable for our privacy practices.

Information we collect and why

When you request a Website page or file, Amazon Web Services (AWS) records standard access information. This may include your IP address, which can indicate an approximate location or network; the date and time; the requested URL, including any query string; the referring page; browser or device information; and basic response and delivery details. Some Website pages, including the homepage, About page, download pages and legal pages, also request a web font from Google, which receives standard network request information.

We use access logs to operate and secure the Website, troubleshoot problems, measure page and download traffic, and distinguish likely human activity from automated traffic. We do not use them for advertising or cross-site tracking, and cookie contents are not included. Do not place credentials, confidential information, or other sensitive information in a Website URL.

The Website has no visitor accounts, third-party analytics or search services, advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or persistent cross-site identifiers. Help search runs in your browser using an index downloaded from the Website. Session storage may be used for navigation within that browser session.

If you email support, we receive the contact information, message, attachments, and correspondence history you choose to send. We use them to respond, diagnose problems, provide support, improve or secure ReceiverLogs and its documentation, comply with law, and protect our systems and users. Contacting support does not add you to a marketing list.

Initially send only your ReceiverLogs version, operating system, and a description of the problem. Do not send passwords, confidential information, project files, receiver-log data, application logs, or sensitive screenshots unless we request them through an approved channel and you are authorized to provide them. Remove information that is not necessary.

Sharing and processing locations

AWS hosts and delivers the Website, Google provides the web font used on those Website pages, and Microsoft provides our email service. We transfer personal information to these providers only as needed for those services and remain accountable for it while they process it. We may also disclose personal information with your authorization or when permitted or required by law, including for a security investigation.

Website content and raw access logs are stored in an AWS region in Canada. CloudFront and other provider services may process information in other countries. Information processed outside Canada is subject to that country’s laws and may be accessible to its courts, law-enforcement agencies, or national-security authorities.

Retention and safeguards

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here. We may keep limited relevant records longer for an active security investigation, legal obligation, dispute, or legal claim. When identifiable information is no longer required, we delete it or make it anonymous. Non-identifying aggregate statistics may be kept longer.

We use safeguards appropriate to the information, including restricted access, encrypted network connections, protected cloud storage, and provider security controls.

Your rights and choices

You may contact the Privacy Officer to ask whether we hold personal information about you; request access to it or information about its use or disclosure; correct inaccurate or incomplete information; ask us to delete information that is no longer required; withdraw consent where processing depends on consent; or challenge our compliance. We may need information to verify your identity and locate the relevant records.

Some network and security processing is necessary to provide the Website. You can avoid future processing by no longer using it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or another privacy regulator with jurisdiction.

We will post an updated notice and change the date above when this notice changes. We will provide further notice or seek consent where required by law.
